The parts I’d say im strongest at would be world building and target audience. I feel like I understand what these two mean and they also play hand in hand when doing either of them.
For my weak points i would definitely Pitching and Monetisation Models, these two i find a little confusing when having to remember how to use them.
I need to focus on my weak points by revising until the exam in so that it will make sure I have no questions that might confuse me or throw me off.

Revision guides could help a lot when revising, looking back through the slides also will help me understand what I need to do. Mind maps are a simple way to test the memory in certain sectors, flash cards and using colours on notes can help throughout revision too.

Asset Creation

Earlier today I started the Character model, I decided to make a rough model version of the stadium we will be creating for the game. In the scrum meeting on Wednesday the team decided a circular pitch would best fit the game and the playstyle.

This was just a quick build just to vision a little what it would look like

Scrum & Sprints

A scrum is a group discussion about what they’re currently working on in the project, how they are finding it, if there are any issues they have, if they need help, just overall chat on what they’re doing on the project. Everyone in the project needs to talk about this as it will help a lot and if one person does not it could impact productivity on the entire project.

Udemy – Ghostbuster Trap

Today I decided to restart my Udemy courses, this was because I hadn’t applied my self to them 100% and I want to complete them all and be able to track my progress throughout them on my blog. This will help me look back and be able to see where I learnt something and also find quick tips I will figure out throughout the courses.

In the first lesson the lecturer established that we will be creating a Ghostbuster trap. He decided this due to it being complex yet simple. It has enough components on the trap for him to be able to teach all the tips and tricks needed at the beginning of learning Maya, I do have knowledge of Maya but I still want to start from basics just so I don’t miss anything out.

Lesson 2 I learnt how to create my own custom tool shelf by using ‘CTRL+SHIFT’ clicking a tool whilst custom shelf is open. This well help workflow as I can put commonly used tools on that and not have to go looking for them all the time. I also learnt about a few new tools; Insert Edge Loop Tool, Append to Poly tool and Poly Extrude tool. These tools can help to a lot with your model and adverse shapes. I also found out how to snap objects to one another via vertexes or edges by using ‘V’. Finally, I was shown how to create equal distant edges from one another using the tool options.

After two lessons this is what we have so far:

The next lesson on the course was about using the ‘Bevel Tool’ which I am already familiar with but whilst still working through the lesson, I learned a simple way to check what way the faces on the model are facing, this is a quick way to check how the model will be shaded. The tool is easily found in the ‘Display’ tab under ‘Polygons’.

As you can see here the green lines represent which way the face is facing.

This is the model once finished the lesson.

Mock Exam Review

Receiving my exam back with my grade, I was pleased with the grade I got back considering I ran out of time during the mock. I feel like I done quite well at getting a good few points across in each question which built the marks up for me. I could do with improving my time management through the exam which may possibly have pushed me into a distinction. I could also improve my question understanding skills, being able to know exactly what the question is asking for will help answer them closer to mark scheme.

Character Revison

Following the Trello board, I started the character revision. For the character Jordan requested the style and type of character he wants in the game. I gathered images and created a moodboard for us to go from. We have decided we will have 3 character revisions made, this is in order to develop the character step by step with the rest of the teams feedback helping with improvements each step.

Character Revision 1

So this is my first character created, I tried to keep in mind the style of the moodboard and attempt to portray that into my model. I’m trying to keep the the body the biggest part of the model and keep the arms and legs like cheese string, this will help the animations in the game look more fun.

After receiving feedback from the team I then improved the model and created a second revision for the character.

Synoptic Project

Week 1 – Pre Production

First scrum meeting with team, organised initial roles and day 1 progress.

To Do: Research – Character Design, Find out if weight painting will be necessary, Moodboard

Day 1 Wed 26th

First scrum meeting with team, organised initial roles and what we could get done just today. Basically just made a start to this whole project. Jordan used a Trello board for efficiency during workflow.

Researched one what weight painting is and decided won’t be necessary for our game but may still use it if needed once character is modelled and rigged.

Character Concept – Researched images for character ideas, discussed with team what they thought would be acceptable and concluded with an Adventure Time style, gathered images and created a mood board on powerpoint.
